Impersonator

The Vibe: A scammer who pretends to be someone trustworthy (project founder, official account, support team) to trick you into sending crypto or giving away your keys.

The Details: Impersonators create fake profiles, websites, or messages that look almost exactly like the real thing — same logo, similar username (e.g., real: @VitalikButerin → fake: @VitalikButerln). They often DM you with “urgent” help (“your wallet is hacked — connect here!”), fake giveaways (“send 0.1 ETH to get 1 ETH back”), or fake support (“connect to fix your transaction”). Once you click a bad link, approve a malicious contract, or share your seed phrase, your funds are stolen. Very common on X, Discord, Telegram, and fake sites.

Pro Tip: Never trust unsolicited DMs — even from “verified” accounts (blue check can be bought). Always check official handles (pinned tweets, website links). Never share seed phrases or private keys. Use burner wallets for unknown interactions. If something feels urgent or “too good to be true,” it’s probably a scam.
